
Suraj Kumar Sahu
Born in 1995,in Soroda, Odisha. Suraj Kumar Sahu done his BFA in sculpture from BK college of art and craft,(BBSR, Odisha) .He is complete MFA is sculpture at The MSU, Vadodara, Gujarat . He represent Indian temple architecture from frozen in stone, clay and natural elements. He see a universe beyond the obvious in its architecture. Temple is an inspiration for centuries. He was started exploring in his practice wherein find a personal attachment with the material as it is interwoven in the temple form and connect human culture. He always enjoys working with diverse as pacts of sculpting white experimenting with various materials. He is also experimented with various materials trying to arrange and rearrange spaces.
Architecture also plays a vital part in a considerable number of works. In this sculpture a fusion of styles was attempted in search of the new Indian architectural language. Eclectically in corporate structural element forms, Khandagiri , udayagiri, Ajanta cave pillars, temple construction of Garbhagriha to top of the amalaka and kalasa parts. And even the modest village mud-hut. The results were often eccentric amalgams and not always functional.
