Giuliano Macca
Born in Noto, Sicily in 1988, Giuliano Macca studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Rome and now works in Amsterdam.
His large-scale works on canvas and paper, often inspired by mythological themes, depict human forms dissolving into imaginary landscapes as explorations of the psyche. Influenced by Goya, Picasso, Bacon, and classical masters, Macca merges tradition with experimental techniques.
His career highlights include Ti aspetto su altri pianeti (MAAM, Rome, 2016), solo shows at Mirabilia Art Gallery (2018) and rvb arts (2019), and the monumental installation EFESTO (Gowen Contemporary, Geneva, 2021).
Since 2022, he has been represented exclusively by Gowen Contemporary, with recent exhibitions at artgenève 2023 and Revival I.
