Open Call
The residency will take place from July to September 2025, and will provide artists with the opportunity to draw inspiration from the diverse cultural, heritage of the region. Hampi Art Labs offers state-of-the-art facilities, exhibition and workshop spaces, mentorship, educational trips, and community engagement opportunities to encourage artistic development.
This residency batch (July-September 2025) will have two key themes:
Material Memory: Narratives Through Natural Materials
This theme invites artists to explore the stories embedded in locally sourced materials—natural dyes, fibres, clay, and wood—and how these can be reimagined within contemporary art and design. Residents will be encouraged to collaborate with local artisans, tracing the histories of these materials while developing future-oriented applications rooted in ecology and place.
Repair, Reuse, Reinvent: Aesthetics of Sustainability
Focusing on traditional practices of mending, reuse, and resourcefulness, this theme encourages an exploration of repair as a creative and conceptual gesture—celebrating imperfections, longevity, and the visible history of use.
To apply, complete the application form, and submit the required documents, We request applicants to frame both their statement and project proposal around one of the two residency themes.
Last Date for Application: 22 May 2025
